Meet the Team
of Our Phoenix Interior Design Firm!
Wendy Cook
Owner/Principal Designer

Wendy believes that life is meant to be enjoyed and started Blooming Daisy Interior Design in the Spring of 2017 with this philosophy in mind.
As the mom of two daughters, Wendy realized how short life is and how precious our time is with our children. As a single mom with a full-time job, Wendy realized she just had a few more years before her girls would leave the nest and head off to pursue their own dreams and passions. Wendy wanted her life to have more purpose and meaning and wasn’t finding as much fulfillment in her job as she once had.
The seed was planted for her interior design career when she went to Paris in 2012 and fell in love with the architecture and design. She’s always loved decorating and styling her own homes and observing architectural details of old buildings and other cultures. She could never get enough.
In 2017, Wendy decided to take the plunge out of her career to dive headfirst into pursuing her passion for interior design. She couldn’t resist the inner nudge that it was her time to make a difference in a new way. She graduated from the Interior Design Institute, hit the ground running by starting her Phoenix interior design firm, and has never looked back!
She’s known to be a little bit feisty and loves advocating for her clients (and isn’t afraid to do so).
With her enthusiasm, determination, leadership, and natural ability to problem solve, Wendy helps guide homeowners with her seamless and easy design process. She guides them to make decisions that result in a space where their fondest memories will be made today and tomorrow.
Wendy’s favorite pastime is horses. Once a horse owner, she’d spend hours in the barn taking in the amazing aroma of hay, honestly the best smell on earth. She hopes to return to that passion someday soon.
When not working relentlessly to give her clients an amazing experience, she can be found spending time with her family and friends, sitting on a patio enjoying a glass of wine. She’s an avid reader and loves learning all she can on business, self development, and design. She also enjoys the outdoors either walking, hiking, or running. Wendy hopes to run another 1/2 marathon one day.
Christie Bensel
Director of Operations
Heather Goshow
Project Manager/Sr. Designer

Christie started with Blooming Daisy in April of 2021 as our Project Manager. With her many years of experience as a project manager and design consultant for a home builder it was a blessing to have her experience and attention to detail join our team. With the acquisition of Customer Coverings, Christie moved over to be the Director of Operations for our in-house drapery workroom. She now manages all the quote requests from the many Interior Designers we service throughout the Valley. To say she was thrown into the fire is an understatement, but she handled it with grace and grit and has developed into an amazing leader in this new role.
In her own time, Christie loves playing pickleball. She values rest, spending time and playing games with her family, and loves to catch a good film with a smooth glass of iced tea by her side. She’s a mother of three adult daughters, and three feline babies, Theo, Charlie, and Bucky.

Like Wendy, Heather took classes through The Interior Design Institute and started her own business before joining the Blooming Daisy Team in February 2023. With her keen eye for design, she is a master at pulling all the details together with beautiful tablescapes, styling bookshelves, and adding that special touch to pull the room together. We are thrilled to have her on board and welcome her sassy personality that keeps us all on our toes.
Heather is a mother of two young adult sons and wife to her high school sweetheart. When she’s not wrangling our projects into shape, she and her husband love trying new restaurants all over the Valley. You will often find her sipping wine on her patio with her beloved mini schnauzer, Sadie.
Tamara Atkinson
Lead Seamstress
Melissa Klem
Seamstress

Tamara has a BA in Fashion Design and has been working in the custom clothing and soft home furnishing industry since 1979. As our Lead Seamstress she manages the workflow within the workroom, ensuring the quality of each product. We were thrilled to have her talent and expertise as part of our growing team when Blooming Daisy acquired Custom Coverings.
Tamara is a mother of seven and finds joy in an ever-growing family and grandchildren. As a creator, she loves working with yarns, threads, paints, plants, and food!

Melissa began her career in the Interior Design industry in 2014, but she’s been sewing and creating since she was old enough to hold a needle. Missy has been a part of fabricating Blooming Daisy’s window treatments since 2018, working for our previous workroom. As we grew, she grew alongside us and officially became part of our team in 2021. Not only is she talented in fabricating beautiful window treatments, but she’s also our very own artisan when it comes to making charcuterie boards! This is a plus for our clients at their Design Presentation.
She loves bringing joy to people’s lives and homes with her craft. Melissa finds motivation in being organized, listening to great music, and savoring a cup of coffee. In her own home, she loves cooking delicious new recipes and practicing her baking skills. She also enjoys traveling whenever and wherever she can.
Michelle Thompson

Mother of two adult children, she loves early mornings with a cup of coffee and walking her dogs, Gus and Molly. She also enjoys spending time working on home improvement projects with her husband.
